Our Farmers

Our farmer is called Sadegh, born in 1978, married and has two sons. Farming has always been in his bloodline with his father being a farmer as well. He owns a few saffron growing fields inherited from his father and the rest he acquired at his own expense.
All his saffron fields are watered with Qanat water, which is an ancient Persian system for transporting water from an aquifer or water well to the surface, through an underground aqueduct. This supply system allows the water to be transported over long distances in hot dry climates without loss of much of the water to evaporation.
Sadegh only uses organic manure compost for his agriculture. His family helps him with his farming throughout the year. Sadegh says that he lives a happy life and his only wish is for everyone to live a healthy life.
